There was excitement in the air this morning - CABINET DELIVERY DAY! I'm fairly certain that Dad was up last night giddy with the anticipation of his lovely cherry wood arrivals.
9:30 am brought the delivery truck to our driveway and all of the cabinets for the dining room were quickly moved from the truck into the garage.
You'll notice they are parked in the spot that usually houses Mom's car, not Dad's.
We unwrapped (what will be) the upper cabinets and set them on the floor of the dining room. We now have plenty of fort building cardboard - just in case anyone is interested.
Dad spent a large portion of the day measuring where the cabinets will be mounted, placing shims and finding studs *insert RIDICULOUSLY overused stud finder joke here*.
In more igneous news: we trekked to inspect our newly arrived granite slabs. B-E-A-U-TIFUL! We also checked out the bathroom counter slab, which is actually marble.
We inspected for any cracks/issues in the slabs (we found a few minor spots, which are marked for coverup). Please note the enormity of this slab and then multiply it by two. Ohhhhhh sweet counter space - how we cannot WAIT to have you!!!
Dear Amanda,
