Today we severed the cord and disconnected the disposal, sink and dishwasher. Next, we ripped out the base cabinets to reveal a not so tidy wall.
Sharron donned her face mask and cleaned the walls with Chlorox wipes.
The Sawzall made short work of the counter top.
Here's the final state after the cabinets were pulled out and Sharron removed the linoleum tile, along with the requisite zillion stables.
I have a lot of wiring and duct work to do in this area. Note the water pipes running along the wall, right in the way of the backs of the new cabinets, which will have to be shimmed out about an inch from the wall.
Meanwhile, I drilled holes in the wall frame to provide a new path for the wires to the light switches that will be installed on the small section of wall that we are building.
The two dangling switch boxes are the ones that will be relocated tomorrow. Then we can wrap some drywall around them, slap a little spackling on them and call it a wall.
